Santa Clara de Asis
Esta fundación se hizo a principios de su majestad el Rey Felipe II, el 21 de abril de 1857, el cual le otorgó al convento de Tunja, el título de real convento, y por eso se destaca sobre la puerta principal el escudo de armas, enviada por él mismo.
Fundado de la misma manera que el convento de Santa Clara, hoy desaparecidos, se originó por la desaparición de uno de los primeros descubridores, hizo de sus propias casas de habitación. La casa perteneció a Pedro Rodríguez de los Ríos quien en el año de 1578. Si bien es cierto no se conoce la fecha exacta de su fundación, podemos Presumir que anterior al año 1600. Además en 1609, cuando solicitaron la ayuda real las monjas, presentaron las declaraciones de varios vecinos y entre otras cosas se les interrogaba sobre si, “saben que las casas en que al presente viven y otras que desbarataron para hacer la iglesia nueva que ahora se hizo y estaba enrasada y acabada de tejar la capilla mayor.
